Polet Airlines successfully made its first commercial flight of IL-96-400T to Paulo, Brazil. ACS in London, UK requested the fast transportation of aircraft equipment and IL-96-400T was the perfect match. The flight took place on the 7th of January from East Midlands, United Kingdom to Sao Paulo, Brazil. Polet Airlines team organized the charter with RA-96103 which is the last produced IL-96-400T. The sales manager Mr. Khaydar Khasanzyanov commented: "It will be quite right to admit that from the beginning it seemed to be not an easy task having very short period of time for flight preparation and the procedures. The request from our customer came very urgently and the transportation required immediate performance".
Nevertheless with the help of professional team and strong communication Polet is having with their customers, this flight was operated as scheduled. It was the first "historical" landing of IL-96-400T in South America.
Polet Airlines did loading of Airbus A-350 fuselage parts, transporting it to Saint
Nazar France. The center fuselage frame sections for the Airbus A350XWB (Extra Wide-Body) commercial aircraft are produced by Spirit AeroSystems, with the following specification of 65 feet long, 20 feet wide and weigh nearly 9,000 pounds. The flight was arranged in close cooperation with our long time partners, EP-Team. Particularly, the main issues to overcome involved flying
into St. Nazaire airport itself - which does not have any facilities, ground handling, equipment, fuel and personnel. "Polet Airlines is looking forward to continue cooperation with EP-Team, Spirit AeroSystems and Airbus and to wishing to become the regular supplier of these and similar fuselage
frame sections", Dmitry Avdeev - Sales Manager commented.
Due to some last minut changes, Polet's loadmasters prepared the new loadplan showing only 1 inch (appx 2-3 cm) clearance from the sides of the fuselage. The shipping dims of the module were: 22 x 5.8 x 3 meters weighing appx 20 tons. Needless to say that loading went without a glitch and the flight operated as planned with one techstop in Bangor, Maine.
The AN-124 aircraft landed to Larnaca airport for a technical stop and crew rest. With busy schedule this fall, Polet Airlines team has been working hard to accommodate market needs. "Our team on board deserves two days rest, after flying hard for some time now" - Mikhail Aksarov - commercial manager commented. "Positioning the aircraft in this region, gives us easy access to the Middle East, where the following flight most likely will occur", he added. Last time Polet Airlines landed AN-124-100 in Larnaca airport was back in 2006.
